Understanding Membership of New College

Residents at New College do not pay weekly rent, but instead an 'accommodation fee' for 44 weeks’ residence and membership. The accommodation fee covers the cost of your room, weekly cleaning and linen for the contract period plus a catering package inclusive of 3 meals a day, seven days a week. Broadband internet with a monthly data allowance of 40GB during semester and exam periods is provided at no extra cost with 100mbps High Speed WiFi and Ethernet  connections provided in rooms and throughout the College. Additional data can be purchased if required.

Membership at New College is the academic year consisting of 3 terms centred on the UNSW academic calendar (approx. 44 weeks). Acceptance of membership is a contract for financial responsibility for the whole of this period. Termination of residency is usually at the end of the year and can only be varied with the approval of the Master.

Instalment Plans

New College understands that residents are not all able to pay the upfront fee. Residents may opt for an Instalment Plan contract at 3% additional cost.
