Art Exhibitions

For several years, the New College Cultural Committee has staged wonderful Art Shows, featuring work by current collegians. The Art Shows are exhibited during one of the formal dinners. Works include drawings, paintings, photography and sculptures. Prizes are awarded by the Dean and Master with the exception of the 'Collegians Choice Award.'

With a stunning display of artworks on show, 2015's art exhibition featured the work of collegians including Alexis O'Connor, David Jewkes, Hayley Millander, Janelle Tai, Josh Green, Katrina Perera, Liam Hayes, Nalin Srikusalanuku, Rachel Guest, Sarah Cobb-Clark, Thomas Waller, Thomas Wilmot and Tinmay Yu. Among the prize winners for the evening were Cobie Moore, Jason O'Neil and Rose Rzepa.

Pictures of the evening can be found here:

The opening of the 2010 Art Show coincided with the New College Lecture Formal Dinner, held on the 13th of September. The exhibition included drawings, paintings, photography and sculptures. The then-Master, Trevor Cairney, then-NC Dean, Ben Gooley and alumnus, Chao Qiao, were invited to judge the show and award prizes. The Kids’ Choice Award was chosen by the youngest members of the New College community, the Dean’s children.

Prizes included:

Portrait of Lucy Murrie, by fellow-Collegian, Elisa Holgate

Collegian's Choice Award - Geff 'Chops' Keighly for 'Buzz Lightyear, Bumblebee & Optimus Prime'

Judges' Award for Photography - Michael 'Gaston' Riordan for 'Catch and Kiss'
