Friend of New launches book in UK
Prof Clifford Jones is a newly appointed Visiting Professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Chester, UK, and a recent Visiting Fellow residing at New College from August to December last year. It was at New College where Prof Jones wrote his latest book Numerical Examples in Fuels and Energy. On February 17th 2019, the book was launched at the Anglican Community of the Resurrection (CR) in Mirfield. A great turnout of supporters attended and afternoon tea was provided afterwards by the Community.
Prof Steve Wilkinson, Head of Chemical Engineering at Chester University, says “Clifford is certainly an academic ‘big hitter’ in the field of combustion, fuels and applied thermal sciences. In 2005 he was awarded Doctor of Science from the University of Leeds in recognition of a career that has produced 27 books and more than 600 published papers and articles. His expert opinion on major fires and explosions is frequently sought in live interviews with broadcasters such as the BBC and Sky News”.
Prof Jones was also heavily involved with the NCV Research Community during his stay. In November, he delivered the monthly Research Seminar in a presentation entitled ‘A Cubic Mile of Oil’. New College sends a big congratulations to our friend Prof Clifford Jones in the UK on his outstanding achievement in publishing yet another brilliant academic work in Numerical Examples in Fuels and Energy. The book has been released as an e-book, and can be downloaded at: https://bookboon.com/en/numerical-examples-in-fuels-and-energy-ebook.
