New College is a truly enriching option for student accommodation in Sydney, providing much more than just university accommodation for UNSW students.
In creating small family-like groups within the New College community, providing pastoral care and holding regular formal dinners, students feel at home and truly cared for during their time at university.
The level of support and care offered to residents assists them in facing the many challenges that come with moving away from home and beginning tertiary education. No other student accommodation options offer the same level of social, pastoral and educational support.
Pastoral care cushions the transition from the family home, with advisors acting as de facto ‘mums and dads,’ providing advice and monitoring resident welfare.
The transition to university accommodation at UNSW is further cushioned by the forming of college groups of around 17 students. These family-like groups share a common room and kitchenette, coming together for weekly ‘supper’ nights, an opportunity to connect with others.
Every meal of the day is catered for in the dining area, another opportunity for residents to regularly connect with the broader New College community.
Accepting students of all faiths and cultural backgrounds, we draw upon our Christian foundations by focusing on the importance of contributing to university life and wider society.
Unique amongst university accommodation at UNSW, New College is ‘dry,’ meaning that residents are not allowed to consume alcohol in the building.
