Service to Society

New College is more than just a place to study and live. Some examples of the many ways New Collegians have acted to make a difference, locally and globally, are:

Since 2004 each year our residents travelled overseas to build houses for underprivileged people in Cambodia, Fiji, Philippines, Thailand and Mongolia.

Residents take part in the volunteer SHACK tutoring program for local disadvantaged high school students and in one year ‘New’ provided over 40% of UNSW tutors. Residents regularly carry out fundraising for and donate to various charities such as Oxfam, World Vision, and UNICEF.
