New College Facilities

Security

Access into the New College is restricted by card access.

Reception is open from Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays), 9.00am to 5.00pm. On weekends and after hours, a Residential Advisor is on call to assist. Residential Advisors are undergraduate student residents on a rotating roster.

Main Common Room and Meeting Rooms

The Main Common Room is air conditioned and installed with a data projector, sound system and screen. In addition there are data projectors, screens, lectern, white boards and other presentation aids. Seating and tables can be configured to suit your needs.

Café

The café offers meals, beverages and snacks outside of the regular cafeteria meal times. It is an informal area for eating and relaxation with tables, chairs, lounges and cable television.

Housekeeping

Bed linen, towels and soap are supplied and there is weekly housekeeping.

Laundry

On each floor there are laundries with a sink for hand washing, clothes drying racks and coin operated washing machines and dryers. Ironing facilities are available in each group.

Telephone and internet access

Each room has a telephone and there is no cost to receive calls but payment is required for outgoing calls. Casual guests are unable to have internet access.

Office services

Postage stamps can be purchased and faxes can be sent from the Reception office.

Games room

There is a billiard table and table tennis table and a lounge area for watching cable television.

Pianos

A grand piano in the Main Common Room is available for a fee and there is also an upright piano.

Disabled access

A ramp provides wheelchair access into the College and there is lift access to all floors. The double ensuite rooms have bathrooms with disabled access and there are additional wheelchair accessible bathrooms on Level 4.
