Dear New College alumnus,
I hope that you have now received both the latest edition of the alumni magazine, New n Old, and invitations to events that are planned for the first half of 2012. Staff, alumni and current residents of New College are working together to make 2012 a memorable year. In this newsletter I would like to draw your attention to three activities.
1. Jared Pritchard Memorial Scholarship
An event to launch and raise funds for a scholarship to be named in honour of Jared Pritchard will be held on Thursday 29 March starting at 6:30pm in the Main Common Room of New College. The evening will include a video tribute to Jared's life, reflections from his friends and mentors, and a special guest performance by singer/songwriter Andy Sorenson. It is the hope of the College and the Pritchard family that alumni and friends of the College, particularly those who knew Jared, will support this scholarship initiative. If you are living in Sydney, please consider joining us on the night. Please RSVP online by 27 March.

The Renovations to New College are nearly complete. All rooms were refurbished and ready for new and returning residents to move in at the end of February for O’Week. Other aspects of the renovations have included a roof over the courtyard, a bridge between 3rd Floor, a new games room and a new kitchen that adjoins the courtyard and looks over the Village Green for the use of Collegians. 3. Alumni Ball
This will potentially be the biggest reunion of New Collegians to date. Over the last 42 years the New College alumni community has grown to over 4000 members. We realise that for some it will be difficult or impossible to travel the distance to the Ball but if previous reunions are anything to go on some alumni will even travel from overseas! Pre-ball reunions will be held on the day for alumni of each era. I hope you can be part of this historic event.
