New College Students Association (NCSA)
The NCSA is the elected student representative body that operates in New College. It is structured with an Executive (President, Treasurer, Secretary, Sports Directors (2), Social Directors (2) and Amenities Officer) and numerous subcommittees. These include Ball committee, College Magazine committee, O’ Week committee, Drama committee, Food committee, Video Committee, Games Room committee, International committee, Security Committee, PicSoc (photos) committee, Arts committee, Environment committee and the Shop committee. All of these committees play a part within the College representing the student body and working in partnership with the College’s administration and management to enhance community life and ensure a social life that is vibrant, dynamic and exciting.
At the beginning of the year each student pays an annual NCSA membership fee to support the activities. Throughout the year members of the NCSA Executive and sub-committees use these funds to subsidise many social events (including the Ball and Harbour cruise), buy sporting equipment, hire grounds for Inter-college games, and maintain and purchase items that can be used by the community as a whole.
The President of the NCSA attends New College Board Meetings to provide the Board with the residents’ perspectives on College.
