Developing Child, Developing Media ed. John Squires (1995)
This book of articles on Developing Child, Developing Media was prepared from papers delivered at a conference at New College, UNSW, in July 1999.
This volume explores different aspects of the relationship between child development and the media. It highlights some of the effects of the new and developing media on children and the difficulties that parents, carers and educators of children are facing in what is proving for many to be a confusing media environment.
The increasing awareness of the effect of media violence on children's behaviour and the growing fear in the community of the effect of children's exposure to undesirable material on the Internet have created a climate for change in the way developing media are used and regulated.
