Postgraduate Scholarships
The Stuart Barton Babbage Fellowship is available for residents undertaking a doctorate or who are undertaking postdoctoral work. The range of scholarships available for postgraduates will hopefully increase in the future.
About the Stuart Barton Babbage Fellowship
This Fellowship has been created to support the scholarship of an outstanding man or woman who is pursuing doctoral studies or post-doctoral research at UNSW. It is named in honour of the Rev Dr Canon Stuart Barton Babbage, AM, the second Master of New College.
New College aims to build character in each individual who becomes part of the College community. We encourage Collegians to seek academic excellence, serve one another and make contributions to the wider community. This newly created fellowship is an important initiative. The College will offer the award to:
- support the growth and development of a promising scholar;
- gain benefit from the involvement of the fellow in the life of the College;
- strengthen the academic culture of the College through the work of the fellow and his/her support of, or involvement with younger residents;
- enrich the College community in accordance with its stated Mission.
The expectation is that the fellow would reside and/or participate in the New College community for at least 6 months and take part in the life of the College. The Fellow would be expected to make varied contributions to the life of the College including speaking at College functions, informal tutorial support and involvement in College activities.
We appeal to you to consider supporting the Stuart Barton Babbage Appeal to ensure that the Fellowship can be funded in perpetuity. To apply for the Stuart Barton Babbage Fellowship click here»
