New College Presents 2016 Revue

In 2016, New College produced the annual Revue titled “False Hood: A New Nottingham.” The production twisted the traditional Robin Hood folklore and told the story of the daft outlaw in green tights, his not so “Little” brother, John and the intelligent intern, Maid Marian on their quest to steal the Prince’s gavel from the Sheriff and Guy of Gisborne. With all the wit and slapstick of a classic Revue, the show left the audience laughing the night away.

More than 150 collegians came together to make the production possible. 15 subcommittees managed everything from props, costume, hair and makeup, technical equipment, food, ticketing, media, backstage and fundraising. The multi-talented performers exhibited a variety of dance pieces, band numbers and a series of skits.

A hilarious short-film payed tribute to, Trevor Cairney, attending his fifteenth last Revue as Master. “The number of people involved was testimony to the community getting behind the production. It was the largest participation that I’ve seen for a number of years,” said Trevor, concluding “it was a wonderful gift to have such a memorable revue as my last official performance event.”

The production could not have been possible without the hard work of producers Laura “Clouds” Heydon and Kevin “Oh Seven” Jacob and directors Theodore “Radagast” Jolliffe and Jacqueline “Banaynay” Willing.
