The College provides opportunities for residents to be involved in many different social, cultural and sporting groups. The New College Students' Association (NCSA) maintains oversight of most of the social activities in the College. These include:
- Inter-college and social sports (sport is catered for and co-ordinated by the male and female sports directors elected annually by residents)
- Musical activities (e.g. choir, instrumental groups, concerts and band nights)
- Inter-College and Intra-College debating competitions
- The annual College Ball
- The annual dramatic production that is produced and directed by Collegians attracting large audiences every year.
- The annual Revue that reflects upon the year's activities both inside and outside of College.
- The Valedictory Dinner which is the final formal dinner of the year and is an opportunity at the end of the year to recognise special achievers as well as farewelling the Valedicts who have completed 2 years of study and 2 years at New
