Mid-session break
I hope that everyone will enjoy the mid-session break. Hopefully, there will be time for catching up, rest, family and whatever. The year is racing by.
Formal Dinners 2009
Don't forget that I'm still looking for suggestions for formal dinner speakers in 2009. I try to identify people who have been successful in some area but who have also demonstrated a desire to serve others not just themselves. Typical categories include, business, academia, science/innovation, arts, politics, the church/theology (usually the New College Lecturer), senior university, sport, media/technology, community service or social action.
New College Village
We expect the NCV to be completed by the 19th December for occupation from the 5th January 2009. Applications are steadily coming in as we near the critical dates for postgraduate enrolments, scholarships etc. (31st October). We expect that we may have some rooms in year 1 for upper level undergraduates so we'd welcome applications from New Collegians. So, if you're thinking of leaving College this year check out the website. You can have a look at the building and take the virtual tour on the front of the website at www.ncv.unsw.edu.au .

New College Village
A number of people from College have made enquiries about moving across to the New College Village. If you are interested in accommodation across the road next year, please let me know as we have started making offers to applicants. While it will have a large number of postgraduates there will be some undergraduates as well. You won't need to complete a full application as such - just let me know if you are interested.
RA and AT applications are due by the end of this week
Please see me if you would like to discuss one of the poistions for next year. I failed to mention last week as well that applicants from within College need only provide the name of one referee.
New College Award
A second reminder - nominations for the New College Award will need to be received by Friday 10th October.
Feedback Forms on RAs and ATs
Please hand these to the office staff by the end of this week - that would be greatly appreciated.
